Delhi HC grants interim relief to Sonia, Rahul in Herald case

(UNI) Delhi High Court today granted interim relief to Congress
president Sonia Gandhi and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi in the
National Herald case.
Justice V K Vaish stayed till August 13 a
lower court summons . Sonia and Rahul Gandhi will not have to appear
tomorrow before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Gomti Manocha.
The mother-son are facing allegation of grabbing property of National Herald of Rs 2,000 crore.
Congress has also given an interest free loan of Rs 90 crore to
Associated Journals Limited for revival of National Herald newspaper.
The
paper was started in 1938 by first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal
Nehru.Dr Subramaniam Swamy was the complainant in the case. He could not
complete his arguments today and will resume on August 13.
Two
other Congress leaders namely (AICC) Treasurer Motilal Vohra and Suman
Dubey were also summoned by the Patiala House court New Delhi.
Kapil
Sibal, appearing for Congress, contended that no case is made out
against the petitioner and it is only political witch hunting by BJP
